2024 Calgary Weld Rodeo

We’re excited to share the highlights from the recent 8th annual Welding Rodeo held at the Calgary Hall over the weekend. With the participation of 9 schools, the event proved to be a resounding success.

Teams comprising 4-5 students were tasked with crafting a cube according to the provided blueprints, complete with fitting and welding a flange and 4″ pipe to pass a leak test. Additionally, students showcased their creativity by fashioning scrap metal sculptures in line with the event’s theme, “Super Welding Bros.”

This year marked a milestone with a record turnout of parents cheering on their kids, alongside numerous Boilermaker members who volunteered their time to ensure safety, troubleshoot technical challenges, and engage with attendees.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors whose support made this event possible. Notably, CWB, Lincoln, Miller and other welding industry leaders have been a longstanding champion of the Rodeo, and this year, we’ve garnered additional sponsorship from some of our clients and contractors. Altex and CAM generously contributed cash donations, with CAM representatives expressing keen interest in further supporting the welding rodeo and advocating for the trades within the community.
