Apprentice Funding Options
The Canadian Apprentice Loan is an initiative of the Government of Canada to help complete your apprenticeship in a designated Red Seal trade. You can apply for up to $4,000 in interest-free loans per period of technical training. The money will be available to you to help with tuition, equipment, and living expenses, to cover forgone wages and to help support your family.

The Apprenticeship Incentive Grant (AIG) is a taxable cash grant of $1000 per year, to a maximum of $2,000. This Grant helps registered apprentices get started in designated Red Seal trades.
When to apply – When you receive your marks for 1st and 2nd period.Click Here
The Apprenticeship Completion Grant (ACG) is a taxable cash grant of $2,000. This Grant helps registered apprentices who have completed their training to become certified journeypersons in designated Red Seal trades.

The First Period Apprentice Award is a $750 financial award for first year apprentices registered in the Alberta apprenticeship program who are entering first period technical training, on or after August 1st, 2015.

The Apprentice Training Award is a $1,000 financial award for registered apprentices who are unemployed in their trade for 30 calendar days prior to course start date and are attending their second, third or period technical training on or after August 1st, 2016. Apprentice Training Award cheques will be issued to eligible apprentices starting in January 18, 2017.

1st period Welding Apprentices. CWB Welding Foundation is promoting and encouraging the pursuit of post-secondary education in welding. The awards are for students who show an aptitude and passion for the welding industry and/or financial need, and are applying to a certified welding program offered by a publicly funded Canadian College.
