The Awards Banquet was put on by the Canadian Boilermakers NTTF (National Training Trust Fund) and was hosted by Grant Jacobs, National Director of Training. The event was held following the Alberta Owners Appreciation Day on August 25th. The top graduate apprentices from across Canada were honoured for their commitment to the Boilermaker Trade. The Boilermaker Industry also honoured Don McFarlane for his many years of service to the Boilermaker Industry. McFarlane retired this March as the President and General Manager of Cessco Fabrication & Engineering starting in 1991.

Devon Tennison has excelled in his technical training while also demonstrating a cooperative and positive attitude on the job. This together with the excellent feedback from the job sites made him an easy selection for Local 146’s top Welding Apprentice. Devon has consistently demonstrated a willingness to learn and he continues to strive to be the best in his field. He has just recently obtained his ABSA B Pressure Certification. We are proud to name Devon Tennision as our Top Welding Apprentice for 2016.
