Edward Power Scholarship Award

The International Brotherhood of Boilermakers announces the 2022 Scholarship Program competition awarding $26,000 to Canadian students.

To be eligible, the applicant must be a son, daughter. legally adopted child or dependent of a member in good standing. Applications are limited to high school seniors who will be entering their first year of academic study at a degree-granting, accredited college or university within one year of their high school graduation.

Applications may be submitted online between January 1 and March 1, 2022. Applications will not be accepted after the March 1, 2022. deadline.

Scholarship candidates should visit the secure Boilermaker Scholarship scholarships.boilermakers.org to submit their application and supporting documents. Scholarship candidates must submit the following:

I. The online Scholarship Application;
2. Proof of relationship or dependency to a Boilermaker member;
3. The applicant’s high school transcript; and
4. A 350 word (minimum) to 500 word (maximum) typed essay on this year’s topic – ‘Renewables alone won’t help the world meet global emission reduction standards on the timetable needed. Explain why and how a mixture of ‘all of the above’ energy sources, including carbon capture use and storage, can set the world on a path to a clean energy future.”
