Course Overview
This course will cover a wide range of topics related to pressure testing generally, with a specific emphasis on hydrostatic testing of oil and gas pipelines according to CSA Z662 and other applicable Canadian regulations.
This 3-day course will cover the theoretical background and practical aspects of pressure testing. The hands-on practice knowledge check exercises are unique to this course and individuals will learn how to calculate different variables related to hydrostatic testing. This course is equally beneficial for managers, engineers, supervisors and field inspectors associated with the pipeline industry. This includes an understanding of the:
- Testing theory
- Establishing the safe pressure test requirement and environment
- Test set up and sequence
- Test Instrumentation and documentation
- Practical demonstration of Pig launching and receiving techniques
- Practical demonstration of “Burst Test”.
A fully illustrated coursebook with figures, tables, charts, handy hints, and considerable reference material will be provided to each delegate. After completion of the theory and practical part, all participants will take an open book exam about the information learned during this training. The exam will consist of 50 questions and the passing score is 75% minimum.
